A key to Om Factory’s early success as an aerial arts studio was their ambitious Teacher Training progam. Backed by talented + highly-experienced instructors with a mountain of knowlegde to share, OFSY was poised to dramatically expand the studio community.

Retained by visionary studio owner Faramarz, I was tasked with designing the first OFSY manual intended to bolster the lucrative training program, and bring to it credibility, added value, and collectible content. With the sucess of the program, the series grew into an extensive multi-volume collection. I went on to design manuals for practices such as Kids, Aerial + Vinyasa Yoga, Circus Silks, Lyra, Bungee + others, many of which were adapted and translated into Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese for sister studios throughout Asia.

Style + graphic guidelines for the Teacher Training series was established with the first volume. Each subseqent manual followed these standards and built on them. Development was a collaborative process that grew out of content outlined by the instructors, as well as the needs of each particular practice.

For every manual, I art directed photoshoots, worked with photographers, models + teachers; organized + retouched images; edited copy to promote clarity + consistency within the book and overall series; and prepared files for final printed output. 15 manuals in total. 100- to 300-page volumes. Spiral + soft-bound.
